I don´t believe in god.
In general in my opinion it´s mostly always depends on the parent´s faith. Children grow up with this religion their parents have and so they get highly influenced through it, in some cases maybe also forced to believe in the same. I don´t want to generalize this, but it´s an important point to consider in this case, isn´t it?

I don't believe in god (or any religion) but my opinion is that the religion has conduced a big part of the development of our todays society and our modern law. And I also think that the religion can help many poeple with going through bad times and you just can't pass bad times on your own everytime. Human beings have to live in a society, whether you choose any religion to stand bad times, a friend or your family members doesn't matter as long as it's useful for you.

I do believe in God very strongly! I'm a Christian and never again wanna live without my Saviour and best friend Jesus Christ!
He's carried me through many rough times and given me hope and comfort when I didn't feel good ... His love is unique, you can't really put it into words, you have to experience it to understand what I'm saying

I am not sure if I believe in God.
But if there is a God out there: Why is there still so much suffering on earth?
And if he has ever guided you through hard times: Shouldn´t you also ask why he does not help others then? Or is it just their belief which is not strong enough. Then we should ask ourselves: What kind of God is that? He does not seem to be forgiving. He does not seem to be kind.
IS THERE A GOD???

God isn't responsible for the bad things in the world, it's us who do it ... God has given us our free will, and since man has sinned for the first time we were separated from God because we didn't listen to what he said ... But since Jesus we can receive forgiveness from him, and when we believe in him and want to live with him he'll help us, he doens't push himself into people's lives if they don't believe in him/if the don't want him .... People always ask why God doesn't help ... Well, God is no machine or someone you can ask for help and then forget again ... It's us who brought the bad into the world and it's God who wants to help us and save us ...~raccoon~ hat geschrieben:I am not sure if I believe in God.

Well, at least his followers have been doing this job fairly well for the last three millennia.Sleepy hat geschrieben:[...] he doens't push himself into people's lives if they don't believe in him/if the don't want him ....
As someone once said
Personally it's not God I dislike, it's his fan club I can't stand.

personally I'm agnostic. I don't think that God exists because there is so much suffering in the world, and if God is benevolent then why does he let it happen? He made us, so testing our faith would only be like testing something he invented, and would not be fair because some people have stronger willpower than others and can adhere to God's laws better.
However, I do not like to think that after death there is nothing. I think that God might exist, but he cannot be benevolent and omnipotent.

I think all the stories which are in the bible are only stories which are told the children in former times like fairy tales, they are developed to send them in pretty dreams. Theres no proof which proves the existance of god or something all-mighty.
If you can give me a really god example for the fact that god exists, than I could maybe change my mind.
I have absolut no problem when someone says that he believes in god an he helps him to come better through the life, but I need a very good proof to believe in something like this

But not everyone who calls himself a Christian is one ... God would never want to force somebody to believe in him, so it's the people who didn't get God's message ...

OOoohhh.....I think so, the kids felt better in the past when they knew, that there is somebody who cares about them and it's such a long period until the bible was made because there were invented more and more storys along the time an these storys were collected in this long period of time.
But it's not so important for me if these storys are fairy tales, I think it's more important that there were so many miracles in the past and today there is no one.
And I think too that stories like healing blind people could be very good something like a fairy tale. It's a nice image that somebody can do something like this, but really........
It's a lot of fun to talk to other people in a chat room like this I'm glad that i found this in the internet. It's a very good ecercise for me, because I'm very bad in English ^^
