Dear Host Family,
thank you very much for considering my application! In this letter I would tell you a little bit about myself. My name is S., I am 20 years old and I am from Germany.
I live in a small town near B. This place is called A .
I live there with my family. With my parents J. and M. with my older sister N. (23) and my younger brother A. (16). To our family is also our dog J.
My father is a plant mechanic and my mother is a housewife.
We all live together in a house with a large garden.
My parents are very important to me because they support me in all my projects. Even with my siblings, I consider myself very well. I can tell them much that moves me and what I like.
Family is to me very seriously. I know I can always rely on my family even though I am different opinion once like them.
Currently I do a training as an educator. 2009, I had made my degree for a certified social assistant. Through my various internships I have gained much experience in the field of child care.
After the my au pair programm I would like to work in a kindergarten for speech impaired children. I would like to accompany them in their development and support them in their wishes. I would like to work with children because it gives me a lot of fun with them to discover new things.
In my spare time I love to meet my friends. Together, we make many different things. This can be for example cook or go in the cinema, go to the cafe or take a DVD evening.
I love to read and I like to listen to music. In good weather, I drive a lot of inline skaters.
Another hobbies of mine are Thai Bo and tennis.
In my spare time I work as a volunteers in a church group for children. Tis is called "KIKI". Here I am leading the sports group. In the sports group we play many different games. That makes a lot of fun.
I would describe myself as open and nice. I am a friendly person. I am also very reliable and open-minded about anything new. If I think something is right, then I am working for this. I try all the support and help them. When my friends need help and I can help them I am do this too. I would also describe me as sincere and honest. I am very familiar. For me my family is very important.
I can work flexibly and quickly adapt myself to different situations.
My driving license I made 2008. Now I regularly drive the car. In the two years I have built no accident and I was not to flash. I drove the children of my neighbors to their friends.
I have also done a first aid course and a first aid course to the child.
I would like to work as an au pair because I enjoy working with children very much. I would like to accompany the children. I want charge the children and get to know the family life. Also I would like to gain experience in another country. For all child care is something different. I want to improve my English and get to know a foreign country
I love that the kids are always honest and open for new experiences. Also I would like to accompany the children in their development. I think it is good that kids try out and explore the world. They see the world not bad and so they can make their own unbiased opinion about certain things.
I like the child care as good, because we can work very individual. Every day something new happens. So it not bore to. I think it's good how much joy and fun you can bring in the life of children and even with small things. I also love it that you can with little things so much achieve in children. Children often need only small things and they create their own game. Well, I likek the kids care also, because I can continue help the children. I can help the children with their problems and support them in their wishes. To bring children to shine and every day something new to experience with them gives me a lot of fun.
-> My first child care I took in a church group for children. I work there since 2004. I work in this group often. In the group are about 25 children aged 4-12 years. It is a mixed group with boys and girls.
I head there, the sports group, I will organize the games and prepare this hour. Also, I lead a round of talks for the children aged 4-6 years. Here we move to talk about various subjects concerning the children. Together with all employees we are dancing and sing. Also, we demonstrate little plays for children. This is often very funny.
I particularly like this group, because the children could choose between different offers. The children can choose whether they want to make crafts, sing, dance or sports. Also I like that there is a wide range of children. In the group there is a range of age and yet there are only rare dispute among the children. They help each other.
I have learned that young and old children can play together and work well. I have met many areas. I have also learned to take flexible and responsive to all needs and interests of children. I think all these things will help me in my au pair year.
-> I have made 2006 a three-week internship in a kindergarten. It was a group of 23 children aged 3-6 years. It was a mixed group.
Here I learned about different craft deals. Also I got to know the daily routine of the kindergarten.
-> In 2007 I made a two-month internship in a kindergarten. In the group included 20 children aged 3-6years. The special feature of this kindergarten was that the group was a month in the forest forever and a month in the facility. Here I learned how it is when you are all day outside with the kids and how to make a day in the forest for the children.
->2008 I did my internship in a kindergarten for speech impaired children. Here I got to know the daily routine of the children. I was at the speech therapy hours from the children. I have also seen how it is to work in a smaller group. In this group, there were only eight children of 4-7 years.
->2009 I did my internship in a after school care. There was a mixed age group of 24 children aged 6-11 years. Here, I helped the children with homework and prepared lunch. Of course, I had tinkered with them and played.
-> 2010, I worked for a short time in a gymnastics group for children and toddler gymnastics.
In the groups were children aged 3-6 years and in the toddler gymnastics were children aged 1-3 years. I do with the kids warm up games, movement games, a Pacour with different devices. We also run or dance to different songs.
With the younger children and their parents I do the same things like the older children. I give help and support the parents.
I think I will be a good au pair for the kids because I had worked with a lot children at different ages. Also can I fulfill the needs of children and support them. I really enjoy working with children and to accompany them. Children are something very important and they should be treated so. I love children and think it is important that they have good care. I am very flexible and I enjoy working with children.
It has always been a dream for me to go as an au pair for a year to America. In the first place is of course the care of children. I would also like to be an au pair because I want to know the American family life. Also I would like to know the culture and improve my English.
