Hallo ihr lieben Englisch-Asse! :)

Vielen, vielen Dank!

Has society become too tolerant of drinking? Do you agree?
What parents of teenagers fear is the use of drugs. There are drugs which are illegal such as marijuana. Besides marijuana, the most widely used drug is a legal one - alcohol. "Let's meet for a drink after work", usually means for adults to go to a bar and have alcoholic drinks. Teenagers often imitate this act. In their social life, cocktail parties, dinner parties, birthday parties make it difficult to say "no" to a drink. They adapted to drink when they go to a party, meet their friends or want to have fun. Unfortunately many people see no consequences of this consumption.
All in all I hope for the change, that people are drinking less alcohol than now. The people should be more carefully. In my mind, as long as you do not distend this act it is okay. But you never should drink alcohol until it would be dangerous.

Has society become too tolerant of drinking? Do you agree? :spin:

Most parents of teenagers are afraid that their offspring might get into drugs. There are, on the one hand, illegal drugs like marijuana, considered dangerous especially as a starter drug. But let us face the facts: beside marijuana the most widely used drug is a legal one - alcohol. "Let's meet for a drink after work", this friendly invitation usually implies going to a bar and having alcoholic drinks. Certainly there is nothing wrong with adults meeting in a pub and relaxing after a stressful day. But teenagers often imitate their elders. Nowadays, young people's social life often involves going to cocktail parties, dinner parties, birthday parties and it is very difficult to say "no" to a drink. Many adolescents seem to have become used to drinking when they go to a party, meet their friends or want to have fun. Unfortunately, too many of them do not understand the sometimes dangerous consequences of binge drinking, one of today's more damnable fashions. It does not only make them feel sick in the morning, it might even kill them. And what is funny or hip about that?
All in all, I hope for a change. People - young or old - should really drink less alcohol and be more carefully with this drug, even if it is legal. In my mind, as long as you do not exaggerate it, alcohol is okay and can make a party really exciting. But you must know your limit, otherwise it is a dangerous drug.

Good luck says
