"Too much importance is attached to exams at school!"

Hallo ihr Lieben,


ich muss in Englisch, 12. Klasse, schreiben, ob ich der Meinung der Überschrift bin, oder nicht.
Ich hab mich dafür entschieden, dass ich auch finde, dass Schularbeiten zu wichtig gesehen werden.


Es wäre super, wenn jemand meinen Text korrigieren könnte!


School is hard — everyone knows that. And, possibly the hardest part of school are the exams. You need to know what to expect and be able to adjust when the exam covers something you didn’t prepare for. But just because of this reason, I think that it is right, that too much importance is attached to exams at school. There are various reasons for this. First of all I think, that many students suffer from exam nerves. Thus sometimes two students with the same ability in a subject get very different exam results. This is because one of them is better at taking exams than the other. Apart from this, exam questions often test how much a student has remembered about the things he or she has been taught in the classroom. As a result, students are often encouraged to learn facts by heart, instead of how to use the information. As I already indicated I believe that exams by oneself cannot assess the knowledge of someone. I would like to add that I am however in complete agreement that students would not learn so much if they not had to write their written tests. Summing up it can be said that on the one hand the exams are very important for the ambition, but on the other hand they are also often unequable because many students have problems with the compression which come along them.

School is hard — everyone knows that. And exams are quite possibly the hardest part of school. (Die Reihenfolge S P O wird nicht so gerne verändert wie im Deutschen).
First, you need to conjecture what to expect and then, if you are unlucky, you might have to deal with questions you did not prepare for. And simply for this reason, I think that it is right to say, that too much importance is attached to exams at school.
There are various reasons for this. First of all, I think, that many students suffer from exam nerves/exam anxiety. Thus, it may well be that two students with the same ability in a subject get very different exam results. This is because one of them is better at taking exams than the other.
Apart from this, exam questions often test how much a student has remembered about the things he or she has been taught in the classroom. As a result, students are often encouraged to learn facts by heart, instead of how to use the information.
As I already indicated, I believe that exams taken by themselves cannot correctly assess the skills of a student/pupil.
I would like to add that I am, however, aware of the fact that students would not learn so much if they did not have to write any written tests.
Summing up it can be said that on the one hand the exams are very important for the ambition(???Ehrgeiz???), but on the other hand they are also often unfair (why not use this wonderful English word?! ) because many students have problems in coping with the pressure.

Gern geschehen! Gut gemacht! Gute Argumente, schön formuliert.

Schau nochmal die if-Sätze an und beachte, anders als im Deutschen steht vor "that" kein Komma!
