BecauseCanada a cold country is, are Canadians much more successful in the winter sports than in the summer sports.
Canada was three times host by the Olympic Games. In the year 1976 take place the Olympic summer games in Montreal. The Olympic winter games take place1988 in Calgary and 2010, so this year in Vancouver. The Canadians are in the world ranking list of the Olympic winter games in 7th place with total 145 medals. And they are in the world ranking list of the Olympic summer games in 19th place with total 260 medals.

Canada is a country with two national sports. It is Ice-Hockey and Lacrosse. Ice Hockey is official a winter national sport and Lacrosse a summer national sport. These sports are very popular in this country. And Canadian football is another popular sport. And so we want to introduce you to the three sports.

Ice-Hockey
Canada is the capital of the modern Ice-Hockey. End of the 19th century transferred students from Montreal Shinney on the Ice (Shinney is a sport, they play on the ground). Today is Ice-Hockey the most popular sport Canadians.

The League is one of the most important Leagues in the world and has the name National Hockey League (NHL). The Canadian Wayne Gretzky is the best player of all time. How to play Ice-Hockey? Hockey is a team game. A team has 6 players. The players must try to get the ball into the goal.

Canadian Football

Canadian football was from rugby and has great similarities with American football.
The Canadian Football League (CFL) is the only professional league in Canada. The basic rule of Canadian Football is thatreaching the end zone of the playing field and then can you get points. Different from the American Football is that the playing field bigger is and it is played without delays.

Sports in Canada[

People in Canada/Canadians like to do or watch many different sports such as ice hockey, lacrosse, Canadian football, basketball, soccer, curling, rugby, motorsports and baseball. But the most popular and national sports in Canada are ice-hockey, Canadian football and lacrosse. Since it is a very cold country, Canadians tend to be much more successful in the winter sports than in the summer sports.
Canada hosted the Olympic Games as many as three times.
In the year 1976 the
Summer Olympic games took place in Montreal. The Winter Olympics were held in Calgary in 1988. And this year they will be in Vancouver. The Canadians arein 7th place in the world ranking list of the Winter Olympics, with a total of 145 medals. And for the Summer Olympics they take the 19th place with a total of 260 medals.

Canada is a country with two national sports. They are ice-hockey and lacrosse. Ice hockey is the official??? a nationalwinter sport and lacrosse a nationalsummer sport. These sports are very popular in this country. And Canadian football is another popular sport. And so we want to introduce you to these three sports.

Ice-Hockey
Canada is the capital of the modern ice-hockey. At the end of the 19th century students from Montrealtransferred Shinney(a sport that was originally played on a field) to the ice. Today,ice-hockey is the most popular sport in Canada.

Their
National Hockey League (NHL) is one of the most important leagues in the world. The Canadian Wayne Gretzky is the best player of all time. What is ice-hockey? It is a team game. Each team has 5 fieldplayers and a goalkeeper. The game is played on the ice. The players are on skates and have ice hockey sticks. With these they try to get the "puck" past the "goalie".

Canadian Football

Canadian football has developed from rugby and is quite similar to American football.
The Canadian Football League (CFL) is the only professional league in Canada. The basic rule of Canadian Football isto get a ball to the end zone of the playing field and then can you get points. Canadian football differs from American football in that it is played on a bigger playing field and without breaks???.
Inhaltlich weiß ich nicht viel zu den Sportarten. Aber wo sind die Regeln zu Lacrosse?
Beachte bitte den englischen Satzbau S P O.

Good luck says

The Canadian Wayne Gretzky is the best player of all time.

While there is nothing incorrect about this sentence grammatically, I would consider this wording in particular very blunt for an informative essay, because it presents what is essentially an opinion as though it were a fact.

I would phrase it as such:

The Canadian Wayne Gretzky is generally considered to be the greatest player of all time.

I'd add "by some".

Doesn't that just cover the same territory as "generally", though? You don't want to water it down too much...

Do you mean me?
I was being sarcastic. Gretzky is The Great One, he's the record holder for most points in one season and a fricking living hockey legend. It's just that like in all team sports the scorers get the most attention and I and others believe that there were other players quite as good as he.

Fair play! My entire knowledge of ice hockey can be summed up in the sentence: "It's cold and there are a load of blokes hitting each other with sticks", so any clever hockey-based quips are going to fly right over my head, I'm afraid! I bow down to your superior knowledge :D

Superior? Hockey may be one of my favourite sports but that doesn't mean I'm really following it. I'm not a fanboy, I don't even remember who won the last winter games. My knowing an athletes name is in fact a good indicator that the he or she must be quite famous.
