The industrial revolution has changed the life in England completely and it took place in 19[sup]th[/sup] century This time is also known as the Victorian era because of queen Victoria's regency . What were the advantages and disadvantages of the industrial revolution and which changes made the British empire.


The 19[sup]th[/sup] century was the time of the inventions and changes . The most important innovation was probably the steam engine .This machine changed the life of the people completely. For example tractors replaced many farm laborers and so many people moved to the cities. The cities grew rapidly and many buildings were build. Everywhere Railroad companies built their tracks and created an new kind of travel. A hygienic invention was the public water closet. One the one hand there were many positive aspects but I also have to bring up many negatives one. For instance the living conditions for the working class were disastrously . The lived in small crowded house without running water or drains. One room was the home from 9 people and the death and disease were never far away . In the factories worked normally the women and children because there were cheaper than men . In addition there were no safety arrangements in the mills and children often lost their fingers or other extremities. Furthermore they working class didn't get paid fairly didn't get health care .


In my opinion the industrial revolution was an important progress but the live in this era was surely very harsh. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages because it was the beginning modern world.
