Hollo. Das ist meine stellungnahme für meine buchauswahl. ICh versuchte möglichst dem niveau der 12 klasse anzupassen, hab trotzdem probleme danke für eure hilfe.

Reason for my choice
& My own opinion about the book

There are many reasons, that affected my choice. As first Geralds Durrellʻs books are favoured in our family, so they became a must - read - status. Moreover his especial writting character is very unique. Gerald Durrellʻs „My Family and other Animals“
combines a balanced part of adventure and science
refined with a child naivety. In compare to
the most of adventure
books, is „My Family...“ a non -
fictional book, based on the real
facts. Placing coincidental, funny incident of the family, he loosens up the whole story, making the book readable for all ages.
For example a funny scene: While watching turtles he founds nest of scorpions. Being told about not to bring dangerous animals at home, Gerry decides to take one and hide for a while in a matchbox. Coming home he was forced to take a part at the dinner and he lets the matchbox at chimney. Unsuspecting about the dangerous content, Larry opens the matchbox and the scorpion with baby scorpions on her back are falling down
on the table, creating wild cries of disgusting. The whole family tries to get rid of scorpions, smashing around with slippersand books while Leslie tries to make use of his favourite gun. A chaotic disorder.
Another one: After a hard discussion, the whole family convinces their mother to take a part in swimming.
After a long shopping trip she founds a matching and decides to try it out in the same day. Entering water the bathing suit blows up making a ball out of her. Confused about the happening and thinking that Geraldʻs mother is in trouble, Roger starts to pull and push wildly on her suit.
Reading these passages and drawing these situation, you understand how funny it was.
The other reasons for my choice is, that entire story deals in sunny island of Corfu. What is a bit pleasant for this annoying season.
All in all I would recommend this book to any age, because of it kind to describe wild and beauty nature combining with small scientific annotations. Furthermore it offers an ideal adventure for all adventure - friends.

Hallo Gerald_Durrell_Fan! Deine Stellungnahme war im Großen und Ganzen ziemlich gut verständlich, wobei es an einigen Stellen mit der Grammatik etwas hapert. In diesem Sinne, meine Vorschläge:
Gerald_Durrell_Fan hat geschrieben:There are many reasons, that affected my choice of book. First of all, Geralds Durrell's books are favourites in our family, so they have achieved a "must-read" status. Moreover, his particular writing style is very unique. Gerald Durrell's "My Family and Other Animals" (Englische Anführungszeichen stehen immer oben... es empfiehlt sich übrigens auch, den Titel des Buches richtig zu schreiben!) combines, in equal parts, adventure and science from a simple child's perspective. In comparison to the majority of adventure books, is "My Family..." is a non-fiction book, based on the real facts. By also including funny family incidents, he loosens up the whole story, making the book readable (besser: "enjoyable") for people of all ages. One example of a funny scene is when, while watching turtles, Gerald finds a nest of scorpions. Although he has been told about not to bring dangerous animals at home (oder: "into the house"), Gerry decides to take one and hide it for a while in a matchbox. Coming home, he is (achte auf die Zeitformen!) forced to join the family dinner and he leaves the matchbox by the chimney. Unaware of the dangerous content, his brother Larry opens the matchbox, causing the scorpion and the baby scorpions on her back to fall down onto the table, which results in wild cries of disgusting. The whole family tries to get rid of the scorpions, smashing around with slippers and books, while his brother Leslie tries to make use of his favourite gun, throwing the house into chaotic disorder. Another amusing scene occurs when, after a hard discussion, the whole family convinces their mother to have a go at swimming. After a long shopping trip, she finds a suitable bathing-suit and decides to try it out on the same day. On entering the water, the bathing-suit inflates, making her resemble a large ball out of her. Confused about what is happening and thinking that Gerald's mother is in trouble, Roger, the family dog, (es ist ÄUßERST wichtig, dass du an dieser Stelle klar machst, dass Roger ein HUND ist, sonst scheint der ganze Vorfall unglaublich skandalös zu sein!!!) starts to pull and paw wildly at her suit. Reading these passages and visualising these situations, you can easily understand how funny they were. Another reasons for my choice is, that entire story takes place on the sunny island of Corfu, which makes a pleasant change to our current weather. All in all, I would recommend this book to readers of any age, because of its way of describing the wildness and beauty of nature and combining it with small scientific annotations. Furthermore, it offers an ideal adventure for all adventure lovers.
