Fast food is ready prepared food, which only needs to be roasted (stimmt das? Ich glaube, Fast Food wird normalerweise "fried"!) or heated up before the consumption. Typical dishes include fried or curried sausages, chicken wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, pizza and kebabs. If one orders fast food from a snack bar ('snake' heißt 'Schlange', was für ein tolles Kopfkino sowie ein paar ernsthafte Sicherheitsbedenken sorgt!!) or from a fast food restaurant, no more than ten minutes should pass from the order to the receipt of the food (besser: "the food is normally ready in less than ten minutes"). Fast food is often consumed while standing or in the walking position. More and more people are even starting to eat fast food also at home. The low prices are another reason why fast food is so popular (oder: "for the popularity of fast food").
