Present Perfect or Simple Past

Hi, dear Foris,
ich habe eine Frage zu present perfect or simple past.
Is it all right to write: "Paul and Sue have moved to Ireland six months ago."? Or does the time expression indicates that the simple past must be used? I think if I want to stress the result, that means the fact that they now live in Ireland its right to use the present perfect, but I'm not sure.

"ago" ist der Inbegriff des Vergangenen meiner Meinung nach


wenn man betonen möchte, dass man jetzt in Irland lebt, würde ich es so schreiben: "I have been (living) in Ireland for six month" zum bleistift *grins...
typisch für das Present perfect ist halt, das Resultat oder die Dauer einer Handlung, was ich versuche zu meinen ist, man braucht keinen "genauen Zeitpunkt" auf was sich das Ganze bezieht.

Ja panic, Deine Erklärung und damit Deine Annahme sind genau richtig.
Aber bist Du so lieb und passt ein wenig auf Deine deutsche (österreichische ) Rechtschreibung auf. Du weißt ja, hier möchten auch Ausländer ihr Deutsch verbessern.
