Shanghai
The people settle about 4000 BC to Shanghai. About 1000 AD Shanghai got developed to a Village, now 1000 years later it is a metropolis with over 1 Million inhabits. Today it has also one of the biggest harbors of the world. It’s now the most populous city from china and one of the most populous of the world. Shanghai is located at the middle of the Chinese coast.
1910 till 1937 Shanghai got reigned by the Green Gang which manipulate the city with trade from opium, gambling, prostitution and violence. Then was the Second Japanese-Chinese war and the Green Gang had to move. Under Mao Zedong, an communist, the reign got replaced.
In Shanghai are very popular things like the Shanghai Pearl Tower, the Shanghai Museum, the Shanghai magnetic levitation train.
At first the Shanghai Pearl Tower is a nearly 500m high Building which a special shape. The building consists of 11 spheres which are linked by columns. The tower was finished 1994 and was the highes building in China till 2007. In it is a hotel, an rotating restaurant and it’s also used as an TV tower.
The Magnetic levitation train is the first world wide, the distance of it is about 30 kilometers. The train needs about 8 minutes to pass the route. The train is able to travel with a high speed of 400 kilometers per hour. That’s very fast and maybe to fast for such an short distance, but it is only a test route, and maybe it is the future of traveling. But nowadays the town makes no profit with it, and the structure costs still to much. Developed was that system from a german company, which also tried to build such a train system in german, but there the projects got canceled.
