Hello,
I would be appreciated if you could give me help with the correction of this text.
The melting pot is a metaphor from Hector St. John de Crevecoeur. Its against xenophobia and was appropriated by Ralph Waldo in 1845. The term describes the United States as a country with individuals of all nations are melted into a new race of men. The play was performed in 1908. Later it became a common expression.

The "melting pot" is a phrase (that was) first used in American literature byis a metaphor fromHector St. John de Crevecoeur. The term describes the United States as a country in which/where individuals of all nations are blended/merged into a new nation ("race" ist immer schwierig in solchen Zusammenhängen). It is a metaphor directed against xenophobia and was adopted/used by Ralph Waldo in 1845. The play (what play? Du musst es doch wenigstens nennen) was performed in 1908. Later the phrase became a common expression.
