The term untouchable contains a highly problematic one in that implies the “looking down” of a high caste Hindu on a person outside society. Also the untouchables are discriminated.
They are considered “unclean” by higher caste Indians. The people in the higher caste think that if they touching the untouchables would render these members of higher castes “unclear” as well.

-Velutha:
Velutha Paapen is the son of Vellya Paapen.

Amuu is the daughter of Mammachi.
She has twins their names are Rahel and Estha.

-Pappachi and Mammachi:
Baby Kochamma are the parents of Ammu. They discriminated untouchables, because they are from another caste. They were not allowed to touch anything that untouchables touched.
