Hallo erstmal, ist jetzt ein wenig kurzfristig aber was solls - würde sich jemand der Zeit und Lust verspürt sich mal meinen Text durchlesen und ihn vielleicht verbessern?
..ist übrigens eine Hausübung, in der ich ein Umweltschützer bin, welcher sich gegen den Bau eines Hotels in der Türkei ausspricht.

My name is *****, I am an environmental activist and have been for over ten years.I care deeply about the environment therefore I am strictly against the project of building a holiday resort. There are some reasons that support my point of view. In my opinion we need to protect the environment, because many wildlife species live on the beach and in the nearby river. I am convinced that if the hotel is being built, thousands of wild animals will be exterminated. Moreover the project would pollute the environment or even destroy altogether.

There is no doubt that this project would entail negative consequences. The arguments against the project are obvious, one of which is of course the environmental pollution caused by the tourists. The fact is that many animals are already threatened with extinction, so the Project would cause even more damage. In addition, many tourists also come for the animals and nature, therefore they need a way to organizing this. Furthermore, local teenagers are might be negatively influenced by foreign tourists.

In summary, I think one can say that this project would be the death of the environment. That is why we must prevent the construction because many people are not aware of the negative consequences. I hope there are many like-minded people, which is also the environment at heart.

You cannot use "for" in this case. for + period: A period is a duration of time, for example: 5 minutes, 2 weeks, 6 years. For means "from the beginning of the period until the end of the period." You are still an activist, arent you?

Hier muss ich Dir widersprechen. Verus' ursprünglicher Satz war ganz richtig. Er hat das Present Perfect gewählt, um auszudrücken, dass er in der Vergangenheit (vor 10 Jahren) begonnen hat, ein Umweltaktivist zu sein. Aber das Present Perfect tut noch mehr: es stellt die Verbindung zur Gegenwart her und sagt aus, dass er auch jetzt noch ein solcher Aktivist ist!
Um eine Zeitdauer anzugeben, wird im Englischen auch mit dem Present Perfect das "for" verwendet. Also bei einer Zeitspanne sagt man: "I have learned English for 40 years."
Um einen Zeitpunkt anzugeben, wird im Englischen mit dem Present Perfect das "since" verwendet. Also: "I have learned English since 1970."

In addition to that, many tourists will be attracted by the animals and the nature in the first place. If those attractions vanished, the tourists would stop visiting the resort. So, the coexistence of nature and tourism has to be organized. Furthermore, local teenagers might be negatively influenced by foreign tourists. (Which doesn't have anything to do with the environment, though, and therefore isn't a suitable argument here, I think.)

In summary, I think one can say that this project would be the death of the [natural] environment. For that reason we must prevent the construction because many people are not aware of the negative consequences. I hope there are many like-minded people, whose concern is a stable and unpolluted environment.
