Ich fühle mich einfach total unsicher mit dem schreiben von englischen Texten, mein Abitur liegt jetzt vor allem 5 Jahre zurück, ich habe zwar keine großen Probleme mich auf englisch zu verständigen, bloß was die Grammatik angeht... Naja manche werden wissen wie das ist.
Hier also der Text:
My name is Max Mustermann and I’m a student at the Technical University Dortmund (TU Dortmund). I’m currently studying “Bachelor rehabilitationswissenschaftliches Profil” in the sixth semester, which means that I will hopefully get my bachelor degree soon. To get the bachelor degree it is a precondition to I write an exam about a topic of my choice. This exam is called bachelor thesis.
The bachelor thesis is one of the reasons I want to go to Kenya. I chose the individualized education planning in Kenya as topic for my bachelor thesis.
I first heard something about the possibility to go to Kenya as part of my studies, when I visited a workshop in summer of 2009. At this workshop, three different countries have been presented. One of the countries was Kenya, and the project which the TU Dortmund started there, was the one which interested me most. The project is called “Desturi” and it is possible to work there in a kindergarten or in a primary school for physically disabled children. After my studies I want to become teacher for physically disabled children, so that part attracted my attention.
I spoke to the leaders of the project and asked them whether it’s possible to go to Kenya at the end of my bachelor studies. I also told them that I wanted to combine the topic of my bachelor thesis with the time in Kenya. When I heard that it would be possible, I was very glad about that and started to arrange things.
The bachelor thesis is not the only reason I want to go to stay abroad. After finishing my school leaving examination, the wish to stay abroad has grown up. Then I first had to do my alternative civilian service and after that I got a place at the college. I thought that I will do a semester abroad maybe, but that didn’t work as well. So I was very lucky that I could go to Kenya now.
In cause of that my expectations are divided. On the one hand, I hope that I can work on my bachelor thesis very well. I hope that I can spend much energy in writing and working, because I want to get my bachelor degree. On the other hand, I want to learn much about the Kenyan culture and want to see much of the country. I hope that I can combine those two parts and that I will have a nice time in Kenya.
