to line jump or cut the line ?

Beitrag von Mchammer »

Hiho, maybe someone can help me ^^

How can i say in a very polite form, that I´d like to go in the front of a queue !

Is it possible to line-jump or to cut the line ? Sound strange ^^

Thank you so much for your help

Hi Mchammer,

You could simply say "Is it possible to jump the queue?" - however it depends on the context. If you are in a hurry and need to get to the front of the queue asap, then I would politely ask "Would you mind if I went first, I am in a hurry". Jumping a queue is frowned upon, especially in the UK.
