His first statement concerned the economy in the U.K.
"Our economy is stuck in a rut"
But how can I translate this sentence in German?
From my view I wanna say: "Die Wirtschaft steckt in einer Sackgasse"
But how would you translate this sentence?

ja, vom Inhalt ist das sicher gemeint. Genau übersetzt bedeutet es wohl: "betriebsblind sein, in einen Trott geraten, festgefahren sein".
