GLobal Warming - Prüfung, Text aus Englisches Video!

Beitrag von myshinobi »

Moin leute,

Vielen Dank

For 2.5 million years the earth's climate has fluctuated, cycling from ice ages to warm appearance. But in the last century the planets temperature has risen unusually fast.
Scientists believe it's human activity, that's driving the temperatures up.
Most of the increase is due to human activities, like:
-burning gasoline to drive cars and trucks
-burning oil, coal or wood to produce electricity and power plants
-for heating, cooling, and other purposes burning forests to clear land
A process known as global warming and that activities pollute the air, water and the earth
Ever since the industrial revolution begun, factories, power plants and eventually cars have burned fossil fuels: such as oil and coal.
Releasing huge amounts of carbon dioxide, exhaust fumes, emissions and other gases into the atmosphere. These greenhouse gases trap heat near the earth through naturally accouring process called the greenhouse effect. In that case, the warming effect is the reason for the vicious circle in the greenhouse.
The main gases that cause the greenhouse effect is the process in which the emission, exhaust fumes, water vaper, Co2, methane, nitrous oxide etc. of infrared radiation by the atmosphere warms a planet's surface. And that is a natural phenomenon based on the fact that the Earth's atmosphere acts a little like the glass of a greenhouse, allowing the heat of the Sun to enter, then capturing it.
The greenhouse effect begins with the sun and the energy that radiates to the earth.
The earth and the atmosphere absorbs 51% of the energy-rays while the rest is radiated back into space. Naturally accoring gases in the atmosphere trap some of this energy and reflect it back warm the earth. Also the sun's radiation radiates with UV-Rays into the earth and also to human beings or animals who can get a victim of skin cancer.
Scientist now believe that the greenhouse effect is being intensified by the extra greenhouse gases, that humans have released.

Scientists record that 1998 was the warmest year in measured history.
Meanwhile radiance taken from an ice core show the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide and methane have yet the highest levels in the past 420.000 years. As long as industrialize nations consume energy and developing countries increase there fossil fuel consumption.
The concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will continue to rise.
Researchers predict that temperatures will increase about 2 to 10 degrees farenheit By the end of the century, what's less certain is what rising temperatures mean for the planet. Others forecast rising sea levels which could flood cost areas around the world. The disappearance of ice cover has been dramatic in recent years, the arctic see ice is shrinking. According to NASA studies the extending see ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. The Arctic sea ice, which covers an area the size of united states; shrank by about 6 percent between 1978 and 1996 according to the world watch report, it lost an average of 34,300square kilometers a year, an area larger than the Netherlands.
In this case, melting glaciers can cause serious floods. One example of this occurred in Nepal in 1985, when a glacial lake burst sending a 15-meter high wall of water down the mountains, drowning people and destroying houses. And today we can see on TV, that Netherlands in Europe or Florida in the USA get a flood disasters.
However, it will make hurricanes and other storms more destructive and the higher temeratures may also make these storms more intense and frequent. And a big problem is the volcanic eruptions which pollute the air rapidly.

Although much remains to be learn about global warming, many organizations applicate cutting greenhouse gas emissions to reduce the impact of global warming.
Consumers can help slow global warming by:
-Walking, riding your bicycle, or taking the bus instead of always going by car.
-Not wasting electricity (turn off the lights, the radio, the TV and the computer when you're not using them).
-Reducing, reusing or recycling all kinds of items, from soda pop cans to clothes, to save energy and raw materials.
-Planting trees to help absorb excess CO2, and to provide shade and windbreaks to keep buildings at more even temperatures so they will require less energy for heating or cooling.

Hallo myshinobi und willkommen im Forum! :)

For 2.5 million years the Earth's climate has fluctuated, cycling from ice ages to warmer periods. But in the last century the planet's temperature has risen unusually fast.
Scientists believe it's human activity that's driving the temperatures up.
Among the reasons for the changes are:
- burning gasoline to drive cars and trucks,
- burning oil, coal or wood to produce electricity, or for heating, cooling, and other purposes,
- burning forests to clear land.

By these activities mankind has not only polluted the air and water and the ground but also set in motion a process known as global warming.

A naturally occurring phenomenon - called the greenhouse effect - plays an important role in this development. It is based on the fact that the Earth's atmosphere acts a little like the glass of a greenhouse, allowing the heat of the Sun to enter and then capturing it. To be more precise, the Earth and the atmosphere absorbs 51% of the Sun's energy-rays while the rest are radiated back into space. Naturally occurring gases in the atmosphere trap some of this energy and reflect it back to the Earth.

Ever since the Industrial Revolution began, factories, power plants and eventually cars have burned fossil fuels: such as oil and coal, releasing huge amounts of Carbon Dioxide and other gases (CO2, Methane, Nitrous Oxide etc.) into the atmosphere.

Scientist now believe that the greenhouse effect is being intensified by the extra greenhouse gases that humans have released. Not only has the concentration of UV-rays - contained in the Sun's radiation - increased, causing skin cancer in human beings or animals, but also have the temperatures on the Earth's surface risen significantly.
Scientists record that 1998 was the warmest year in measured history.
Meanwhile, readings taken from an ice core show that the greenhouse gases Carbon Dioxide and Methane have hit the highest levels in the past 420.000 years. As long as the industrialized nations consume energy and developing countries increase their fossil fuel consumption,
t
he concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will continue to rise.
Researchers predict that temperatures will increase about 2 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century. What's less certain is what rising temperatures mean for the planet.

Some scenarios forecast rising sea levels which could flood coastal areas around the world. There has already been noted a dramatic loss of sea ice cover in recent years. The Arctic sea ice is shrinking. According to NASA studies the extent of sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. According to the World Watch Report, the Arctic sea ice, which covers an area the size of the United States, shrank by about 6 percent between 1978 and 1996, losing an average of 34,300 square kilometers a year, an area larger than the Netherlands.

But also melting glaciers can cause serious floods. One example of this occurred in Nepal in 1985, when a glacial lake burst, sending a 15-meter high wall of water down the mountains. People drowned and houses were destroyed. The number of flood disasters is rising world-wide, to name but two: the Netherlands in Europe or Florida in the USA.
On top of that, hurricanes and other storms tend to be more destructive overall. It's the higher temperatures that make these storms more intense and frequent. And another big problem are the volcanic eruptions which pollute the air rapidly. We are suffering from the effects of one of these at the moment.

Although much remains to be learned about global warming, many organizations advocate cutting greenhouse gas emissions to reduce the impact of global warming.

Wow, das ist ein guter Text!!! :freu:

Good luck says

Wow!

It seems to me that...
In my opinion...
My personal view is that...
In my experience...
As far as I understand...
I might be wrong but....
It is claimed that...
I must admit that...
Personally, I think....
TH fact is that...
THe main point is that...
USW.

For 2.5 million years the Earth's climate has fluctuated, cycling from ice ages to warmer periods. But in the last century the planet's temperature has risen unusually fast.
Nowadays, many disasters happen on Earth.
What is the reason for that? The question of global warming has a point of argument between scientists for a long time. Are we really threatened?
I'm certain that one can safely say, that some places on the earth are threatened because of the climate change and global warming. The fact is that the disappearance of ice cover has been dramatic in recent years. According to NASA studies the extent of sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. The Arctic sea ice, which covers an area the size of the United States; shrank by about 6 percent between 1978 and 1996, losing an average of 34,300 square kilometers a year, an area larger than the Netherlands.

In this case, melting glaciers can cause serious floods. One example of this occurred in Nepal in 1985, when a glacial lake burst sending a 15-meter high wall of water down the mountains. People drowned and houses were destroyed. However, it will make earthquake, hurricanes and other storms more destructive and the higher temperatures may also make these storms more intense and frequent. And another big problem are the volcanic eruptions which pollute the air rapidly. We are suffering from the effects of one of these at the moment.
And what is the reason for that problems?
There are many reasons for this disastrous and there is no doubt about it that we are threatened cause of global warming.

Among the reasons for the changes are:
- burning gasoline to drive cars and trucks and power plants which produce many of emissions
- burning oil, coal or wood to produce electricity, or for heating, cooling, and other purposes,
- for heating, cooling, and other purposes burning forests to clear land

In my opinion, we are not at fault for the climate changes. We should not ignore our environment though. It does not hurt to separate our trash or to leave the car parked sometimes, which would help our figures. We only have this one planet and should handle it with respect.
As far as we know, by these activities mankind has not only polluted the air and water and the ground but also set in motion a process known as global warming.
A naturally occurring phenomenon called "the greenhouse effect" plays an important role in this development. It is based on the fact that the Earth's atmosphere acts a little like the glass of a greenhouse, allowing the heat of the Sun to enter and then capturing it. To be more precise, the Earth and the atmosphere absorb 51% of the Sun's energy-rays while the rest are radiated back into space. Not only has the concentration of UV-rays - contained in the Sun's radiation - increased, causing skin cancer in human beings or animals, but also have the temperatures on the Earth's surface risen significantly. Through this events, many scientists claim that the global warming have increased the size of the hole in the ozone layer.
It is important to mention that human beings and animals are threatened to become victim of skin cancer cause of the sun's radiation, which radiates with UV-Rays into the earth.

As long as the industrialized nations consume energy and developing countries increase their fossil fuel consumption,
the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will continue to rise.

But on the other hand, we should to know, that human beings are dependent of the power plant, cars, airplane, electrician and sheet of paper, for which we need to cut up many trees. The trees are very important for the living as well, because they produce for example apple's and other fruits, which animals have to eat. Even nobody want to live on desert. If we cut up all trees on a area, than we could have a desert in the area. We can get a storm.
I think I don't have to explain why we need vehicles or trees etc.
To reduce global warming, consumers can help slow global warming by:
- walking, or taking the bike or the bus instead of always going by car.
- not wasting electricity (turn off the lights, the radio, the TV and the computer when you're not using them).
- reducing, reusing or recycling all kinds of items, from soda pop cans to clothes, to save energy and raw materials.
- planting trees to help absorb excess CO2, and to provide shade and windbreaks to keep buildings at more even temperatures so they will require less energy for heating or cooling.

Hallo myshinobi,

Good luck says
Duckduck

Alles Gute!
