The kindergarten was founded in 1946. He has 74 places for kids ranging between two and six years. There are 3 groups. They are called: Mäusegruppe, Bärengruppe and Igelgruppe. In the Mäusegruppe and in the Bärengruppe are kids ranging between four and six years. The Igelgruppe is for kids ranging between two and three years. The rooms for this group are in the first floor. And the other groups have their rooms in the ground floor. Moreover there is a little sports hall and a kitchen.
The opening times are from Monday to Friday from 7.30 in the morning to 5 o´clock in the afternoon. Usually most kids arrive at half past eight. Then they have time to play and they can choose a lot of different toys. The breakfast room is open until 10 o´clock and the kids are allowed to decide for themselves, when they want to have breakfast. At 10 o´clock all the kids have to go to the room of their own group. There they make a circle time. Two educators talk with the kids about the day. The kids can choose an activity, which they will do after the circle time. For example, they can do sports, they can do handicrafts (basteln) or they can perform theater. After the activities they can play in the rooms again. At 12 o´clock most kids are picked up by their parents. The other kids have lunch at 12 o´clock. After that they must go to sleep. It´s very difficult because the kids don´t like it. When they have finished their nap (Mittagsschlaf) nearly all the kids are picked up by their parents.
I liked the 2 weeks in the kindergarten, because I had a lot of fun and the people were very helpful. At once they had confidence in me and because of it they let me do all the work with the kids. But I think that I won´t do the job in my future because it´s very …(einseitig?).
