Hi tanijan und willkommen im Forum! :)

She's acting differently

The passage taken from William Sutcliffe’s “Are you experienced?” deals with two peoples called Liz and David. Liz and David are in an aeroplane, because they want to travel to India.
In the aeroplane Liz' seat is broken and she can't tilt it backwards.
She wants to swap places with David. He is just writing (schreibt er wirklich ein Buch, oder liest er vielleicht eines, dann wäre es reading) a book whereas she wants to sleep and lean back on her seat.
But David wants to keep his window seat so that he can look at the view. And so he ignores Liz.
But Liz asks him again:"Can we change the seat?"
Finally David swaps seats with Liz.
But then Liz shakes her head. And because of this David suspects that she thinks he is immature, selfish, bigoted and arrogant.
He cannot understand why she should shake her head when he has given her the seat.
David is of the opinion that Liz is acting differently to him and that she has changed.

Pure blind fear

The passage taken from William Sutcliffe's “Are you experienced?” deals with Liz' and David's arrival in India.
When Liz and David have arrived in India they look for a bus. In the bus they notice that the other passengers don't have their bags with them. So they get out of the bus and find themselves back in a different ("unterschiedlich, anders"? das verstehe ich nicht ganz) crowd of people. They put their bags on the roof of the bus. After the bus has dropped them off, they go to the Ring Guest House.
They search for a hotel. When they arrive in the hotel, there are no double rooms available. So Liz and David have to take beds in the dorm. There they get a room. In the room there stays one other person. His name is J., a short form for Jeremy. Liz and Jeremy talk together. Dave is jealous of Jeremy, because in his opinion Jeremy and Liz are flirting. And that’s why he wants to talk with Liz privately about Jeremy. Liz can't understand Dave. She wants Dave to be friendly to Jeremy, because he has been in India for a long time and has a lot of information which can help them. After their conversation Dave goes out to take a look at the city. In the city Dave is persecuted by a little Indian girl, who wants to beg money from him.

Good luck says
