Do you think that the language one speaks defines one’s national identity?

First of all it’s not the language which defines one’s national identity.
For example a perfect German-speaking English Person talk to you on German. Do you think you can define him on his national identity? No , he play a trick on you. As a result of this you can’t define him on his national identity.
But we can define people on their culture and their behavior. For instance an English Person behave different to a Geman Person. That is natural and this is why every culture is special in their own way.

Personally I think the culture defines one's national identity in a positve way. The language is only a tool of the culture and can't define one's national identity

First of all it’s not the language which defines one’s national identity.
For example, an English person, which speaks perfect German, talks to you in German.
Do you think you can define the national identity of this person based on the language skills?
No, you can not - especially if one plays a trick on you.

As a result of this you need to find other ways to define the national identity of people.
You may be able to use their culture and their behaviour.
For instance an English person behaves different compared to a German person.
This is natural and that is the reason why every culture is special in their own way.

Personally, I think one's culture defines one's national identity in a positive way.
The language is only a part of the culture and can't define one's national identity.

Gute Verbesserung finde ich! Doch heißte es im zweiten Satz nicht; For example, an English person, who / that speaks perfect German, talks to you in German. ?

@Fadsaugdavid
Danke für den Hinweis.

Korrektur:

Imagine an English person, who can speak German perfectly, talks to you in German.
