Hallo und zwar hab ich ein paar sätze im simple past und past progressive ich weiß nicht wirklich wann ich was nehmen muss, vielleicht könnt ihr ja mal drüber schauen und meine Fragen beantworten, Danke!
1. When he finally was getting on ferry, it was almost 2.30p.m. <--- erste mal past prog. da genaue Zeitangabe?
2. He found himself a seat on the first deck and looked around. <-- zweimal simple past da die handlungen nach einander passieren, oder unterbricht hier das schauen das hinsetzen??
3. He told her that he was on the way to Germany. <-- wieder zweimal past da "was" eine form von be ist und die nicht ins past progressive geht?
4.The girl asked him if he was also went to London <-- if ist singalwort für Past progressiv aber gilt das auch no für went?
5.After a while he also was going to the bistro and bought a coffee. <-- das Kaffee kaufen unterbricht das gehen deswegen erst Past progressive und dann simple past?

Wieso ist das bei satz 1 got und nicht was getting?
Wie sieht das bei 4 aus das also went to London passt auch?
Und bei nummer 4.
wenn ich den Satz erweiter, also: After a while he also wentto the bistro and bought a coffee and a late lunch which he was eating next to a polish speaking family. << Hier nehm ich dann aber Past prog.?

When he finally was getting on the ferry, it was almost 2.30 p.m. Während er endlich die Fähre bestieg (schaute er auf die Uhr) es war fast 14:30 Uhr.
