Wind energy in Austria:


Our homework was to write a text about wind energy in Austria.
Energy is a very important topic in the world, because in a few years we won’t have any oil or gas. So we have to look for a renewable energy like wind energy, solar, biomass and so on.
And now I will describe the wind energy a little bit more.

The function is very simple. You need a good place where you can build your power plant.
The place is very import to get the maximum so there was a lot of measurement before they built the power plant. A wind turbine is a rotating machine that converts the kinetic energy of wind into mechanical energy. 
In 2006 we have already 607 power plants in Austria. Altogether they produced current for nearly 500000 households.

Now to the pro and cons of wind energy:
The wind energy is very cheap and we have a lot of them.
No emission of pollutants like carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide.

You aren’t able to storage wind so you must convert it immediately in current.

I think wind energy is a good alternative renewable energy.
