Teenager running away from home

So in my opinion the main problems are the lack of talking. In many families the teenagers are afraid of talking to their parents and asking them for what they want. For this reason the misunderstandings between them grow bigger and bigger. This often ends in a big argument. The parents want to show that the children have to do what they say and start forbidding them things like going out. So the teenagers want to show that they are strong, too. One of another reasons is they don’t get enough love and care from their parents. As a result, they will go and find love and care elsewhere. One of the most common reasons is that the parents put too much pressure on their children especially in their studies. Actually they should encourage and guide them more instead of putting unrealistic goals on their lives. Another problem is that they want to have their own freedom. So they like to be creative and explore things for themselves.

Danke im Voraus.

Why do teenager run away from home?

In my opinion the main problem is the lack of communication between
the parents and the teenage children
.

In many families the parents do not try to understand the needs of their children.
Therefore the teenagers are often afraid of talking to their parents which creates
a constant tension between them. The children do not like to ask for the things
they want because they remember that many discussions ended in a big argument.
So the misunderstandings between them grow bigger and bigger.

The parents try to demonstrate their power by setting rules which reduce the fun
level of the children, e.g. they are not allowed to go out. The teenagers try to be
strong too, but their resources are much more limited. The kids can only do annoying
things e.g. slamming doors or refuse to fulfil the high expectations of their parents.

This power struggle creates a distance between them which eliminates the chance
for both to show their true feelings of love and care for each other. As a result,
the teenagers try to find caring love and respect elsewhere which can create further problems.
Especially when they run away and then get in touch with the wrong people.

Parents may have the best intentions when putting too a lot of pressure on their children
especially in regard of their education. Unfortunately, not many parents realise that they can not decide
what the true interests and talents of their children are. Adults need to listen more often to get a better
understanding of the teenagers current situation and problems to provide guidance when support is necessary.
Most teenagers like to be creative and explore new ideas. Parents can offer encouragement and the freedom
needed to try out many new things. So the teenagers can learn more about themselves to create a realistic
vision of their future life.

Danke im Voraus.

@Duckduck
