Netcronyms: Use and consequences

Netcronyms are abbreviations used to communicate in modern media like the internet. These short forms of phrases often express emotions or humorous expressions.
On the one hand there are several reasons why netcronyms are positive and on the other hand there are facts against these shortcuts.

A positive aspect about netcronyms is, that everyone who uses global modern communication can use them. People of every age and nationality who learned the meaning of these shortcuts can understand them. So it’s possible to exchange emotions and messages without language borders.
However the use of suitable and professional language isn’t guaranteed anymore, because the people didn’t write complete words and phrases in their text messages or emails. The people lose their ability to write in suitable grammar and sentence structure as well as they forget more and more words.
On the other hand the netcronyms can help people of different ages to communicate in an easier way. These different social groups can interact via modern devices to clear their problems. It is often easier to write about something difficult than to talk about it.

But what is with face-to-face communication? What has become of it?
I think netcronyms are a perfect way to communicate over the internet or text messages, but only for short messages or quick news. If you want to talk about something important you should meet the person and talk personal.

thank you for reading :)

Netcronyms are abbreviations consisting of the first letter of each word in a phrase.
They are used in modern media like the Internet to communicate in chat rooms or via e-mail.
These short forms of phrases often express emotions or humorous expressions.
There are several positive reasons why people use netcronyms
but on the other hand there are some facts against them too.

A positive aspect of netcronyms is that everyone who uses global modern communication can use them.
People of every age and nationality who learned the meaning of these initialisms can understand them.
So it’s possible to exchange emotions in messages without language borders.
However the use of suitable and professional language isn’t exercised by everyone anymore,
therefore it can not be guaranteed that all recipients understand these short text messages
or e-mails. Some people may not even know how to use proper words and phrases at all.
The next generation of people could lose their ability to write sentences with suitable grammar and structure.
They use only a limited amount of words and therefore the variaty of words used in common speech shrinks.

On the other hand netcronyms can be an easier way to communicate feelings between people of different ages
and social background. This is especially true if modern devices are used to interact with each other and
can thereby help to solve current problems. For some people it is easier to write about a difficult situation
than to talk about it.

What has become of face-to-face communication and what is it going to be?
I think netcronyms are a perfect way to communicate over the Internet or
to quickly send news in short text messages.

If you want to talk about something really important you should always
try to meet the person to talk about it face-to-face.

Thank you for your help. :)

Netcronyms are not shortcuts.
