Für eine kurze Erklärung brauche ich folgenden Text in einwandfreiem Englisch:
The formation of mountains occured during diversity geological periods. It's not exceeding to detect in the mountains hollows with a great variety of shapes and dimensions. Some are entirely closed off and some have vents to the outside world. The root of these cavities can be caused in abrupt displacement of the earth and the changeless activity of groundwater. If there is no opening to the outside, the circulating water above the cave, charged with calcium bicarbonate and magnesium, is flowing very slowly through small fissures. At the roof of the cave the drops of this water leaves a sediment of the containing calcium bicarbonate. Drop by drop stalactite are formed. Arrived at the floor, the water still contains any calcium bicarbonate, which causes the stalagmites. That's the way flowstone caves evolves.
Ich hoffe, es findet sich jemand und sage schon mal vielen vielen Dank!

Some of these caves are entirely closed off and some have vents to the outside world. The root??? Wurzel??? oder meinst Du "origins" = Ursprünge?? of these cavities can be caused by an abrupt displacement of the earth and the unvarying activity of the groundwater. If there is no opening to the outside, the circulating water from above the cave, which contains calcium bicarbonate and magnesium, seeps through small fissures in the rock very slowly. At the roof of the cave the drops of this water leavesa sediment ofthe containingcalcium bicarbonate. Drop by drop stalactitesare formed. When the water, which still contains some calcium bicarbonate, drips on the floor it causes the growth of stalagmites. That's the way flowstone caves evolves.
