Im Rahmen eines Seminars muss ich ein Essay über etwa eine Seite anfertigen und würde mich über die ein oder andere Korrektur sehr freuen.
I am one of many pedagogy students at Erfurt University. Arrived at third semester studying still delighting me and I am just as dedicated as at the beginning. Despite all that there are several disappointing issues. I am frustrated by the crowded seminar rooms, the writing of term papers and the test week.
Crowded seminar rooms are no good premise for successful learning. In connection with the overcrowded meetings there are some factors which saddening me a lot. For one thing, the level of sound in such courses is so high, that I find it extremely difficult keeping concentrated and follow the lecturer‘s comments the whole period of time. Reason for the high noise level are the innumerable intern discussions between several groups of students during the lecture, whereas the lecturer do not bother to use the available microphone providing better comprehensibility. For another thing it is not possible to find a vacant seat if you appear just before the lecture begins. That’s why these students have to be satisfied with a seat on a stair or even a standing place so that they get problems with an imperceptible blackboard painting and manufacturing qualitative notes. According these facts, which exceedingly disturbing my attention and my concentration it is ineluctable for me to seize the seminar conducted by a postgraduate to remove problems in comprehension and eventually pass the examination. However other lecturer‘s not offer such additional exercises...
I am also having problems in writing term papers which are prerequisite in most of my lectures to pass the seminar. The biggest difficulty in coherence with writing these papers is my own motivation. The fact that I have to concentrate on not only one term paper but rather on two or three causes that my motivation in coherence with writing term papers always is virtually zero. Another point which causing me trouble is the specialist literature. This kind of literature is absolutely necessary to write a high-valued research paper because it is nearly impossible finding good information from the internet or magazines. For me it is really onerous to understand such texts and collect appropriate information out of them. Additionally I have to criticize lecturers supervision and support, I think it have to be their assignment to give useful hints how to write such a term paper but no one ever gave me any advices. Singularly these couple of facts driving me to desperation again and again.
The full lectures and handling with term papers causing me many sorrows in studying, but the main problem represents the test week which is feared by almost every student and is the worst issue by a long way. In this week the students have to complete their semester with writing tests to successfully pass their occupied courses. This sounds easy, but it is not just only one test, partially the students have to write three, four or maybe five tests within one week, it is easy to imagine how depressing this could appeal. I for one had to write one test on Monday, the second on Thursday and even three on Friday afternoon. According this example, it necessary to prepare directly after one test at the same day to feel prepared enough to pass the next and not get kicked from your main- or substudies if you fail.
But all in all I am proud to be a student at Erfurt University. Precisely because over the course of time the exams are not getting less difficult, it remains equal the same number of students which attending the seminars and it seems that I have to write several term papers in the near future, i have to try to cope with that embarrassments and make the best of my study to successfully pass it.
