"have got to" und "have to"

huhu leute

meines wissens nach ist "have got to" und "have to" ein und dasselbe, was sich mir auch durch ein wenig im internet stöbern bestätigt hat.

Beispielsatz: I have a car = I have got a car

Wenn ich also mal "ein und dasselbe" wörtlich nehme bedeutet dies für mich auch, dass es die selbe Zeitform ist (Simple Present),
und dies würde wiederum bedeuten dass I have a car for two years = I have got a car for two years
ist.

Nun bin ich mir aber sicher, dass "since" und "for" nur in Verbindung mit
Perfect und Perfect Progressive verwendet werden darf.

Nun meine Frage: Wo ist der hacken an dem ganzen?

Hello, I hope this helps:

I have a car = Ich habe ein Auto (You can leave out 'got' in conversation)

I have had this car FOR 2 years (You would NOT say "I have GOT this car for two years")
or:
I have had this car SINCE 2007. (I GOT this car 2 years ago).

You can say: "I GOT this car from my friend 2 years ago" (Meaning you BOUGHT it from your friend, or your friend GAVE it to you 2 years ago).
