Why did you use "competition" ?

Don't forget to sign it and maybe you can
include a subject line for your (covering) letter.

because it´s not an usual application for the job.
i have to send them my documents and i have to make some exams so basically i´m taking part in the competition and they call it competition too.

You mentioned they call it a competition - maybe these HR people are Germans after all.

I guess you compete against other applicants (job seekers, competitors) for this job,
but I would call this an Assessment Center (AC) and not a competition.

You applied for a job. Therefore your documents are part of your application for this job.
