Picture description. Correct?

Beitrag von Crown³ »

Hello together,

i`m new here and I hope you`ll be able to help me...
Bitte kontrolliert diesen Text auf Fehler:

At first I want to describe the picture that I`ve made. The first thing you see is a regular Punjabi family with father, mother, three sons and two daughters. I begin the description of my picture by the two girls on the left side. Their names are Balbir and Dalbir who don`t life with the family anymore. That`s the reason why I drew them a far away from their parents.
On the right side standing two of the three sons. Their are the uneducated, young and married to punjabi girls. They have done their father proud by getting married at the “ripe” age and in time they will make him proud by becoming fathers when told. That`s why they are wear caps on with the text “ stupid and proud of it”. The one who is able to “told” in this family is the father. He has a drinking problem. Beside/Behind of him stands his wife. She is a typical mom who is mute and cooks. She makes no decision and saying only yes or no, whatever you want! She doesn’t voice her concerns over the early marriage of his two sons and will not comment on the marriage. She knows her strength and she uses it to her benefit. She is one of the passive members of the household.
The Father is holds a dog line in his hand where his youngest son Manjit (The leading actor of the book) is on the other side of the line. Manjit is 13 years old and he doesn't want to go through with the marriage that his father has arranged for him. Manjit is also wearing handcuffs with “traditions” engraved, because he really hates the way of life which his family tell him to do. It`s lovelier for him to life like the other guys in his class in Leicester. He is torn between his original and the western culture. Manjit's family wants to force him to marry an Indian girl he has yet to meet. He, on the other hand, has a girlfriend of his own and a best mate who represents everything that Manny's family disapproves of. Manjit has nothing in common with his brothers or parents.
I try to show you these conflicts between Manjit and his family in my picture with the caps, the handcuffs, the dog line all these things in it.

Vielen vielen Dank im Vorraus!

Heyo =)

Hehe, erstmal hört es sich schön an, aber Hallo zusammen kannste nicht mit hello together übersetzen.

So, mal gucken

At first I want to describe the picture that I`ve made. (made maybe ersetzen durchn mehr aussagekräftiges Verb, ob dus gezeichnet hast etc. Aha, drawn =))

The first thing you can see is a regular Punjabi family with father, mother, three sons and two daughters. I will begin the description of my picture with the two girls on the left side. Their names are Balbir and Dalbir who don`t life with the family anymore. That`s the reason why I drew them far away from their parents.
Two of the three sons stand on the right side. They are uneducated, young and married to punjabi girls. They have made their father proud by getting married at the “ripe” ("rape" *hust*, ok schlechter Joke =)) age and in time they will make him proud by becoming fathers when they are told so. That`s why they wear caps that say“ stupid and proud of it”. The one who is able to “told” (was?) in this family is the father. He has a drinking problem. Beside/Behind him stands his wife.
She is a typical mom who is mute (err, is sie stumm oder sagt sie nur nichts? mute = stumm) and cooks.
She is a typical mom that does'nt talk that much and does the cooking / cooks everyday.
She does'nt make decisions and all she says is "yes", "no" or "whatever you want". She doesn’t voice her concerns over the early marriage of her two sons and she will not comment on the marriage. She knows her strength and she uses it to her benefits. She is one of the passive members of the household.
The Father holds a leash in his hand with his youngest son Manjit (the leading actor of the book) on the other end. Manjit is 13 years old and he doesn't want to go through with the marriage that his father has arranged for him. Manjit is also wearing handcuffs engraved with the word “traditions” , because he really hates the way of life which his family tell him to follow. It`s lovelier (Wortwahl) for him to live like the other guys in his class in Leicester. He is torn between his original and the western culture. Manjit's family wants to force him to marry an Indian girl he has yet to meet (nice!). He, on the other hand, has a girlfriend of his own and a best mate who represents everything that Manjit's family disapproves of. Manjit has nothing in common with his brothers or parents.
In my picture, i tried to point out these conflicts between Manjit and his family with the caps, the handcuffs, the leash and all these things. (...and all this stuff =))

The one who is able to “told” in this family is the father.

Ja ^^ Ich wollte wohl eigentlich sagen:

The only one who is able to tell things in this family is the father...(oder so ^^)

Hm, ja ich verstehs langsam. Das ist aber schwierig umzusetzen.

Hab hier nochn paar Ansätze dazu aufgeschrieben. Oder du nimmst den Satz halt raus oder formulierst ihn ganz neu.

The only one with authority in this family is the father.
The father (acts like/is) the boss of the family.
The father is the only person in the family that is allowed to say whatever he wants.

Your text with a few changes:

(At first) I want to describe the picture that I`ve drawn. The first thing you notice it's a regular Punjabi family with father, mother, three sons and two daughters.
I'll start the more detailed description of my picture with the two girls on the left side. Their names are Balbir and Dalbir who don`t live with their family anymore. That`s the reason why I drew them a bit farther/further away from their parents.
On the right side standing two of the three sons. They are the uneducated, young ones, who are already married to Punjabi girls. They have made their father proud by getting married at the “ripe” (?) age and in time they will make him proud by becoming fathers when they are told so. That`s why they are wear caps that say “stupid and proud of it”.
The ruling member of this family is the father. He has a drinking problem.
Beside/Behind him stands his wife. She is a typical mom who is mostly quite and cooks. She decides nothing and says only 'Yes', 'No' or 'Whatever you want!'. She doesn’t voice her concerns over the early marriage of his two sons and she will not comment on the topic. She knows her strength and she uses it to her benefit. She is one of the passive members of the household.
The father holds a dog line in his hand. His youngest son Manjit (The leading actor of the book) is put on this leash. Manjit is 13 years old and he doesn't want to go through with the marriage that his father has arranged for him. Manjit is also wearing handcuffs which got “traditions” engraved on them, because he really feels restrained by the traditional way of life his family is trying to force on him. He would like to live like the other guys in his class in Leicester. He is torn apart between his origin and the western culture. Manjit's family wants to force him to marry an Indian girl he has yet to meet. On the other hand he has a girlfriend of his own and a best friend who represents everything that Manjit's father disapproves. Manjit has nothing in common with his brothers or his parents.
I try to show you these conflicts between Manjit and his family in my picture with all these things: the caps, the handcuffs and the dog line.

Oh, I just noticed that I didn't mark all the little changes I made - I'm sorry...

Their names are Balbir and Dalbir who don`t live with their family anymore.

Manjit is also wearing handcuffs with “traditions” engraved on them,
because he really feels restrained by the traditional way of life
his family is trying to force on him.
