Should Britain introduce the Euro?
When the Euro was introduced in 2002, most European countries introduced it. Since then more and more other countries joined the Euro. Britain hasn’t joined the Euro up to now. Therefore, there are a lot of discussions whether Britain should introduced the Euro or not. In the following essay I want to talk about that topic.
On the one hand it isn’t good to introduce the Euro. The pound has got a long history, because it was introduced in 1971. Furthermore the Britain’s can feel independent with their own currency. They have the pound, which have no other countries.
In addition the inhabitants of Britain are used to the Pound. Every single one would have to adapt itself to the new currency.
But on the other hand it is very useful to introduce the Euro, because it is beside the Dollar and the Yen the most powerful currency. If Britain join the Euro, they will have a very strong currency. Another aspect is, that they needn’t exchange their money on vacation in the EU. This is very good, because no money gets lost by the exchange rate.
One more aspect is, that the goods get cheaper because of the concurrence on European trade. Trade will also be easier because there aren’t as much currencies as before.
Because of this arguments, I come to the decision that it will be better for Britain to introduce the Euro. In my opinion it will be a chance for Britain to become more respectable. All in all I think that Britain should introduce the Euro.
