der strittige Satz lautet wie folgt:
"If all tasks complete successfully, the actual process is being started." In dieser Form ist es ja ein Conditional I und damit absolut korrekt wie ich denke.
Um jetzt aber auszudrücken, dass es sich nicht unbedingt um eine konditionale Situation sondern eine sichere, konsequente Abfolge handelt (bzw. um einfach zu variieren und nicht nur conditional sentences zu benutzen) - kann man da auch sagen:
"Did all tasks complete successfully, the actual process is being started."
Oder muss in dieser Konstellation immer "when" oder "if" benutzt werden?

Eigentlich wird eine Aufgabe erledigt, das macht sie nicht von alleine.
Nee, in dem (hier gegebenen IT-)Kontext ist Task keine (passive) Aufgabe, sondern ein Rechner-Prozess eines Systems, der sich selbst verwaltet und auch selbst "completed".

Hab die Frage mal an ein paar Native Speakers in Down Under geschickt. Hier die Antwort:
Definitely would not say"did"in that grammatical structure. It is "when" or "if".
For there to be no real conditional and more a process of course or consequence you would say "when all compiled tasks complete successfully, the actual process is being started." To say "if" is conditional in that the process will not be started unless the compiled tasks are completed successfully.
Alternatively depending on the context you may choose to say " when all compiled tasked are completed successfully, the actual process will be started"

"is being started" passt hier nicht, denn die Aussage bezieht sich entweder auf eine Bedingung "if" oder einer Schlußfolgerung "when" und da braucht man entweder Zukunft bei Typ I oder einfache Gegenwart bei Typ "0" (... immer wenn dies passiert, passiert auch jenes).
Dein erste Vorschlag war doch gar nicht schlecht aber ohne Verlaufsform.
