How to remember the English vocabulary

Hi everyone

In my country, English is the second langguage, but now English is more and more important in working. I have learnt english few year ago, up to now it is not good. The most difficult I meet when learn english is remember the vocabulary. With my poor vocabulary, I dont speak fluently, and harly to express my idea. It takes me a lot of time to thinking before saying something.

Please tell me the way you solve this problem, or give me advise

I know your problem, because i speak not only german, (i am from germany) I speak russian too, i am aboriginal from Kazachstan now i speak 3 languages (3. english)
At the start it was very difficult to me to learn english, because of the vocabulary

Another help is comming from the file cards where you can write down every word, which is difficult for you and than if you are somewhere, in the train in the bus or somewhere else you can learn your vocabulary. It is very helpfull. moreover i would advise you to by a book like "The Animal Farm" or something like that, books for children are very easy to read and to understand.

Hello, I have a very similar problem.
You have to think and to speak in English as often as you are able to.

Don't worry abaout making mistakes. If you use the language, your vocabulary becomes more active and you will not forget words so fast.

Years ago I was used to use small cards where I wrote vocabularies on. On one side the german meaning and on the other the english one. Then I put them in a box with 4 seperate sections. New words get into the first section. Now if I were able to write the correct english word down, the card got into the next section. But the key for an effective practice ist that you learn the words in the first section every day, those in the second every week, the third section once in two weeks and the last section once a month. It's a lot of work and since I given up this method of learning vocabularies my english became worse.

I have the same problem because i live in a place where people only speak spanish and i have to stick words or pictures on the wall and i think that is the right way...or maybe name the things that you have in your home and you could remember them...

Flash Cards are a good tool to learn vocabulary...If you have another method..please help me!!!!!
