Aktiv oder Passiv

Hallo,
stehen die drei Sätze im Aktiv oder Passiv, ich kann das nicht unterscheiden:

Because they were frightened of these stange men, at first the Aborigines ran away.

When he was told about the Aborigines, Cook was very surprised.

While they were cutting down trees for the fort, the men saw a larger group of Aborigines.

errr verbessung.. der 2te is passive.. active wär.. someone told cook

"was surprised" kommt drauf an, wie man's nimmt; wenn man "surprised" als ein Adjektiv auffasst ist es Aktiv, wenn man es als ein Partizip nimmt ist es Passiv
"ran" ist Aktiv
"was told" ist Passiv
"were frightened" aehnlich wie bei surprised; wenn man "frightened" als ein Adjektiv auffasst ist es Aktiv, aber wenn man's als ein Partizip nimmt ist es Passiv
"were cutting" ist Aktiv
"saw" ist Aktiv
