For more than 40.000 years the first people came from south-east-Asia, the Aborigines. Years later an European, called Fernão de Magelhães came who found the island Timor, next to Australia, in 1600.
Six Years later Lois Vaez de Torres drove past Australien, between Australien and Neuguinea.
The Netherlander William Janus was the first European who came to Australia. In 1606 he went to the north of Australia , called Cape York. He called his discovered land New Netherland.
1642 Abel Janszoon Tasman came to an Island that called by himself, Tasmania.

Years later Captain James Cook should possessioned the new land for england. 1770 he went to the south Australia. Eightteen years later Australia was splitted in the middle, in New-Netherlands and New South Wales.
Now the colonization started and Captain Arthur Phillip came with 700 imprisoned to australia in 1787.
So the foundation day was on the 26. Januar 1788.

The first settler(siedler) came to new-netherlands in 1793. They drive out the Aborigine untill nobody from the Aborigine live in Tasmania.
1814 after Matthew Flinders, drove around the continent ,he gave this continent the name Australia.
After five years new colonies was conquered, like Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Queensland.

In 1851 in New south wales and Victoria, there was a goldrush.
400.000 People came to the cities because of the gold and the popolation grew to 1,2 million people.
1939/45 between the world war, Australia fighted on the side of the Allies. After the war many imigrants to australia.
In 1956 the Olympic Summergames took place in Melbourn and 2000 in Sydney.

Zwar ist dein letzter Post schon bald 2 Wochen her, ich werde aber trotzdem mal versuchen, ein wenig dran rumzubasteln ;)

More than 40.000 years ago, the first people settled over to Australia from South-East-Asia, the Aborigines. They founded their own tribes and lived there in freedom until the first discoverer from other continents appeared 200 years ago. All in all, Australia was dicovered three times. The first one of them was Fernão de Magelhães who found the island 'Timor'. That was in the year 1600. Six years later, the second one, Lois Vaez de Torres discovered Australia, when he drove down a route between Australia and New Guinea.
In the same year, William Janus, a man from the Netherlands claimed the northern part of Australia. He called it 'New Netherland'. After this, nothing interesting has happened, except for the discovery by Abel Janszoon Tasman. He came to an island which he called by himself, Tasmania.
In 1770 the most famous discoverer, James Cook, came to Australia. With his column, he sailed to the south of Australia, which he called 'New South Wales'. The population began to be scared in the sight of two new peoples which settled on their homeland. 18 years later, Australia was splitted in two parts. Exactly at the border between New Netherland and New South Wales, it was splitted apart.

Edit: Da fehlt ja noch der blaugefärbte Text :D
So came Captain Arthur Phillip with 700 imprisoned to australia in 1787. Trough the population was the Aborigines supplant by the European. And in Tasmania even no aboriginies live now.

Arthur Phillip and 700 of his men were imprisoned in 1787. The Aborigines were supplanted by the Europeans. Today, the're (nearly?) no more Aborigines in Tasmania.
In 1814, Australia got his current name through Matthew Flinders, who sailed around the continent. About forty years later, in 1851, the time of big gold rushes started in New Wales and Victoria. 400.000 people traveled to the cities because of the gold, and so the population grew up to 1,2 million people.
In the years from 1939 to 45, while the 2nd World War took place, Australia fought at the side of the Allies. With the end of the war, many people imigrated to Australia.
In 1956 the Summer Olympic Games took place in Melbourne and in Sydney in 2000.

Sofern ihr noch Fehler in meinem Text finden könnt, und das könnt ihr sicher, verbessert mich bitte. Freue mich über jede Kritik, ob positive oder negative :)
