ich muss für mein Ethnologie Studium einen Englischen Text für ein Referat vorbereiten.
Mein Problem: Ich kann nicht ganz genau übersetzen/verstehen was "great beings" sind.
Hier der ganze Satz:
"In Dobuan thought, there exist great beings, known as kasa sona."
Ich würd jetzt Denken, die meinen damit "große Wesen". Etwas übernatürliches.
Aber der nächste Satz verwirrt mich etwas:
" In the past, most of these beings gave over to their human contemporaries, the ancestors of today's populace, their volution or the sole ability to activate their powers."
Wurden die Wesen auf die Zeitgenossen übertragen oder die Fähigkeiten? Aber wieso dann auch beings?

Die Fähigkeiten wurden an deren menschliche Zeitgenossen übertragen, welche die Vorfahren der dort heutig Ansässigen sind. Volution?
Ich weiß auch nicht, was diese great beings sind. Vielleicht ein stolzer, edler Volksstamm??
