English Arbeit (fehler wirklich ein fehler?)

Hallo!

Ich habe in meiner English Arbeit folgenden Satz geschrieben

She did that for the purpose of keeping her political power, not having to share it with a king

jetzt hat mir mein lehrer angestrichen, da muss noch ein by rein

also so

She did that for the purpose of keeping her political power, by not having to share it with a king

muss das wirklich rein?

Ich find das klingt dann falsch...

"...by not having to share it with a king"= "indem sie es nicht mit einem König teilen musste"

"...not having to share it with a king"= "es nicht mit einem König teilen müssend/ damit sie es nicht mit einem König teilen musste"

Klingt Beides korrekt, wenn man mich fragt, da Beides Sinn ergibt.
Lasse mich aber gerne korrigieren!
