Also versuch es erst einmal selbst.

The pretended photo of the six flag raising Mariens, taken by Joe Rosenthal, was one of the most important and reproduced pictures in history. He said: "It was like shooting a football game. You never knew what you got on film." The Editors of US Camera Magazine stress: "In that moment, Rosenthal's camera recorded the soul of a nation."
It’s amazing that this photo appears in the american society until now.
You can see it for example in advertising, in art or in politics. In the following, I want to present some of these pictures in reference to the flag raising scene on Iwo Jima.

In advertising:
This picture presents five people raising a big flag on a rock.
The flag looks a bit like the “stars and stripes” because of the stripes and the quad in the left corner of the flag. There are no stars in the quad, it is filled with the brand of the jeans called “h.i.s blues”. It attracts attention that everybody in this picture wears a jeans and most of them also a waistcoat. The ground is beeing composed of rocks like on a real mountain.
This advertising is an impersonation of the flag raising scene on Iwo Jima. The posture of the five people is the same like Marines in the original scene in world war second. The designer of this advertising want the society to think about this poster. Every person, who see this poster, for example on an advertising pillar, has suddenly associations to Iwo Jima.

In politics:
In this postage stamp are shown Dan Mc Williams, George Johnson and Billy Eisengreen. Thomas E. Franklin took a photo of the three fireman, as they raised the “Stars and Stripes” on the rubble of the World Trade Center. The American flag was stolen of Spiros Kopelakis and Shirley Freifus’s yacht by this three firemen. They were unaware of being photographed at this point of time. This was a very important aspect because nobody should think that the media would exploit the photo.
This photo parallels the scene of the flag raising soldiers on Iwo Jima, too. We can compare the three firemen with the six Marnes because both groupes were being hailed as heroes after the puplication of the famous photos.
The gestures of them should symbolize the enduring spirit of the American nation and it should also send the message of hope.

so ich hab euren rat befolgt und jetzt meine conclusion fertig geschrieben...
könnte da denn jemand nochmal sein geschultes auge drüber schweifen lassen ?

conclusion:
In the reflexion of my skilled work, I want to pick up again some aspects of my topic “The Marine Corps Memorial” and I want to tell you something about my procedures and problems. In the last six weeks, I dealt with the subject “The Marine Corps Memorial“. I divided my skilled work in different topics to elucidate many information about the subject. Basically, the transaction succeeded, but I had to spend a lot of time to finish the skilled work. In some cases, it was difficult to find informative sources, but in the end I had enough material available. It wasn’t complicated to concentrate on a topic over a long time, because the whole subject was very interesting. All in all, It was an interesting experience and also a chance to advance my english skills. I think, I learned a lot of new information, too. In the following, I want to have a closing look at the most important aspects of my work.
A central aspect in my work is the hoisting of the flag on Iwo Jima. From my point of view, most of the Americans have a wrong opinion to the event on Mount Suribachi.
Almost every person in the United States has seen the picture of the flag raising soldiers eventually, but only a minority of them have enough background information of this event to know what really happend. It’s a drastic aspect that the famous picture on Mount Suribachi is only a fake, because some people were of the opinion that the “original photo” doesn’t really affect enough authentic. The Marines should look like powerful heroes, not like exhausted weaklings. Since the announcement of the faked scene, the photo is appears in our society consistently – in advertising, in politics and also in art. The media uses this event again and again to convey a special message to the society. I think it’s amaizing that the United States even built a big bronze monument with reference to the fake photo. The patriotism plays a decisive role in America and I think that most of the American people have no preference if the personated scene is real or not. It’s more important that it looks good for their proud country. When we think about Ira Hamilton Hayes, we can imagine how dramaticly his situation was. He had many compunctions because of the beguilement and he died by reason of his inner conflict.
