is it possible to say instead of reason for doing sth reason of doing sth??

It'd be nice if I got some replies.

Soweit ich weiß, gehört immer die Präposition "for" hinter reason, wenn man eine Sache begründen will, also wenn direkt danach ein Verb steht.
"Reason of" hat andere Bedeutungen. Ich habe das mal bei Leo eingegeben und DAS kam dabei raus.

Hmm...
You need to say reason for sth... Reason of has not really something to do with the German word "Grund".
You can find some examples for "reason for" here.
Maybe it is better to wait for a post of one of our native speakers. I do not want to tell you rubbish. SORRY.

Die Erklärung ist schon richtig.

The reason for ......auch wenn dann ein Noun kommt.

I have a very good reason to believe.....dann ginge es mit to.

The reason why you are wrong. Dann wäre es in Frage stellen.

The reason that..... hmmm...das wäre eher informal.

The reason of....würde ich nur sehen so wie, "because of..." Würde ich aber nicht sagen.

I would not just say that it is informal. I think it is even wrong to say "reason of".
