Hello everybody:-)
I´ve written a little poem, mainly for my own entertainment, and I have a problem with one special word respectively one expression in it:
Can you use the English expression "to fly by" with a noun or does it have to stand alone? In other words, can you say, e.g.:"The little, red balloon is flying by the moon" OR do you have to add another word, resulting in something like: "The little, red balloon is flying by PAST the moon" or merely "... is flying past the moon"??
I would rather use the first formulation because of rhyme and rhythm reasons;-)
Thank you in advance!

Good morning,
Good news! It's absolutely fine to say "the little red balloon is flying by the moon"
