toothache / a toothache

Hallo,

toothache habe ich bis jetzt immer geglaubt, dass es uncountable ist.
Nun habe ich es auch mit:
I've got (a) toothache.
gesehen.
Gibt es da eine Regel wann mit und wann ohne "a"?

Hallo Uwe,

Im BE heisst es "to have toothache" und im AE heisst es "to have a toothache". Beides ist korrekt und "to have a toothache" ist auch in BE mittlerweile sehr ueblich.
