Re: Indirect speech
I thought, this sentence is (I'm not sure here with "is, was or had", maybe ist "had" right but "is" sounds right for me) written in Simple Past thats because I chose Simple Past Perfect.Amandine: "We weren't able to reach our boss on the phone."
But I didn't know that I need an auxiliary too. I saw this "been" in a Past Perfect Progressive tense, thats because I don't used "been".Amandine said that they hadn't been able to reached their boss on the phone.

The sentence was already written, in the past, so it's "was," not "is."But I didn't know that I needed an auxiliary, too. I saw this "been" in the Past Perfect Progressive tense, which is why I didn't use it.Amandine said that they hadn't been able to reach their boss on the phone.
Apparently I missed "reached" in my initial edit, it should be "reach."
You could say, "Amandine said that they weren't able to reach their boss on the phone," instead, so just keep it in simple past rather than past perfect. But if you're putting "hadn't" (had not) into this sentence, you need a main verb. Adding "been" here actually doesn't make it past perfect progressive. "Had (not)" is the auxiliary verb, and "been" is the main verb. If you're using past perfect progressive, "had (not) been" is the auxiliary, and you'd have some main verb such as "jumping" after it.
