Hallo,
hier muss ich ein Unfallbericht schreiben. Leider weiß ich, dass ich auch hier genug Fehler gemacht habe :( und eure Hilfe brauche.
Danke.

Hi Luc,

last week I had an accident with an another car. I turned out there for a moment. My cellphone rang and I took it, read the message during I drove. Really, only for a second, and than happened. It was so stupid on my part. The traffic light switched red and I didn’t see that, than I bumped into a car that’s slowed. I damage the front of my car. That will be expensive. I have to buy headlights, left wing, cooler, bumper and several things more. I have to do it by myself. I didn’t have so much money, that I can pay for a garage. But whereat I’m really glad that’s there’s no one seriously hurt. And that’s really important. The woman in an another car, in that I driven, had only a shock.

Hi Luc,

Last week I had an accident with an another car. I turned out there for a moment (das verstehe ich nicht, was willst du damit sagen?). My cell phone rang and I took it, read the message while I was driving. Honestly, it was only for a second, and then it happened. It was so stupid on my part. The traffic light switched to red and I didn’t see that, than I bumped into a car in front of me that had slowed down. I damaged the front of my car. That will be expensive. I have to get new headlights, the left wing, cooler, bumper and several other things. I have to fix it by myself. I don't have enough money to have it fixed in a garage. However, I’m really glad nobody was seriously hurt. And that’s really important. The woman of the car that I bumped into only suffered from a shock.
Hallo,

Achte bitte auf den Unterschied zwischen then = dann und than = als. Das verwechselst du hin und wieder :).

Vielen Dank.
I turned out there for a moment(das verstehe ich nicht, was willst du damit sagen?).
Das habe ich aus dict.cc übernommen. Das soll "ich war für einen Moment abgelenkt" bedeuten.

Oh! Du meinst "I was tuned out there for a moment". Du schriebst "turned" :) Das hat mich verwirrt. Sorry!

Ich finde den Satz "I was tuned out there for a moment" ziemlich altbacken und wenig aussagekraeftig. Wieso schreibst du nicht einfach "I was distracted only for a short moment" ?

Hi Luc,

Last week I had an accident with an another car. I got distracted. (A short sentence here sounds better to me, since you go into more detail afterward.) My cellphone rang and I took it, read the message while I was driving. Honestly, it was only for a second, and then it happened. It was so stupid on my part. The traffic light turned red and I didn’t notice, which caused me to bump into a car in front of me that had slowed down. I damaged the front of my car. It will be expensive to repair. I have to get new headlights, a left wing, cooler, bumper, and several other things. And I have to fix it by myself. I don't have enough money to have it fixed in a garage. However, I’m really glad nobody was seriously hurt. That’s really important. The woman in the car that I bumped into only suffered from shock
Are you trying to say that you got a text, answered a call and talked to someone, or got a voicemail? "Read the message" doesn't make much sense with "rang and I took it." If you got a text, it should be "My cellphone got a text (or "notification"), and I read the message while I was driving." If you got a call and answered, it should be "My cellphone rang and I answered, and talked while I was driving." If it rung but went to voicemail, it should be "My cellphone rang, and I listened to the voicemail while I was driving."

"My cellphone  got a text(or "notification"), and I read the message while I was driving."
That's what I mean. Thanks for the enlightenment.
