"take a shining to" Bedeutung?

Beitrag von Leon »

Hallo,
weißt du vielleicht Rat? Nämlich wie der folgende kursiv gedruckte Satz zu übersetzen ist: (We took a hike up a Norwegian mountain.) The local sheep really took a 'shining' to our car.
Thanks a lot for suggestions!

"Took a shining to" is just an idiom that means "took a great/intense liking to." You could write "The local sheep really liked our car," and that would have a very similar meaning.
