The extract on the page 55, line 2-7 tells to the reader, that despite the false accusations he does not say who did it, because Richard is not traitor. I think what schnid meant to say here is that even though Richard is being falsely accused and punished, he still refuses to say who is really responsible for doing whatever Richard is being blamed for?
