Bewerbung als Praktikant in London (Bauingenieur)

Hallo,
Da mein Englisch seit meiner Schulzeit viel Staub angesetzt hat und ich dringend eine Bewerbung in dieser Sprache schreiben muss, wäre ich unendlich froh um einige Korrekturen in meinem Text

Dear Sir or Madam,


I am studying wood engineering with specialisation in *** yyy and zzz  at the University of Applied Sciences in Berne (CH) since 2013.
In January 2016 I will finish my fifth semester and then it's intended to write the thesis in an company.

 
A placement in a company abroad would be a great opportunity for me to gain valuable experience and also to use my english skills.
I would like to further my knowledge by working for your company as an intern, preferable in the field statics and construction management. This will give me the opportunity to learn more about timber engineering in other Countries and it will benefit me in regards to experience and knowledge!
Its good reputation among
former interns was what first drew my attention to YOLO Construction.

If you have an opening for an intern position, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to work for your company and thereby providing me with a chance to educate myself.
Ideally, I could start my placement at the beginning of February 2016. I would prefer a period of 9-10 months. But of course I would be available according to your requirements.
