„Do you think that interns should be paid?“


In the following comment I would like to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a possible answer for the question if interns should get paid. Concluding I will give my personal preference.


Firstly, alot interns would like to get paid from the employers at their internship.
One reason is, that they spent a little part of time their, meanwhile they could stay at school and learn something other, something what is maybe more important for their life, it is then not possible to handle their minijob if they have one because they maybe depend on it. Furthermore, it would attract more interns for a internship, so people would do more internships and find out what job they would like to absolve in future, so that the economy would grow up, when the employee are more satisfied.
Moreover, if interns whould get paid there would be a less number of unemployed and they would have a chance to earn money, so that the state does not need to help them with money, so the state would save much money and could it then invest in the economy, so it would solve alot problems and would be a circuit with a „happy end“ for all three parts of it! On the other hand, employee and employers undertake alot pressure when they teach them everything or just a part of the job, if they wouldn't earn more money for the introducing which takes alot time in demanding and just pay the interns, it would really just not be fair. Furthermore, it would not be worthwhile to pay interns from school which are there only for 1 to 3 weeks. In addition to that, every internship has other claims and a different difficulty as the other one,for example comparison between a baker and an lawyer, so a regular payment would never work.


In my opinion, interns should not get paid, a interest wouldn't or should't grow by the use of some money. It's alot more work for the employee to teach the interns and then they even don't earn some extra money for it, even if it took alot of pressure with it to teach them.
