Vielen lieben DankWelcome to my presentation about the Mount Everest. The Mount Everest is one of the most popular mountains in the world the Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. It is about 8,848 metres high.
The Mount Everest is located in the Himalayas mountain range bordering Nepal and Tibet.
The Himalayas are mountains which are located in Southern Asia. These mountains are the highest all over the world The Himalayas expand over 1,510 miles from the Indus Valley in the west to the east.

The Mount Everest is one of the Seven Summits. They are the highest mountains within the seven continents. The first person on the world who managed to finish the 7 Summits project was Richard Daniel. Until today more than 350 people have finished all the Seven Summits.

Now i speak about the history of mount everest expeditions.
The top of Mount Everest was first reached in May 1953 by the Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and the New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary. This was after 31 years of British trials to get a man on top.
The next successful attempt to climb on the summit was on 23 May 1956 by Ernst Schmied and Juerg Marmet.
Routes to climb on the Mount Everest
The Mount Everest has two main climbing routes, the southeast ridge from Nepal and the north ridge from Tibet. The southeast route is easier and is more used. It was the route used by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. The north ridge from Tibet is technically harder, but safer because there are less avalanches and rockfalls.
Now i come to the dangers and general informion
It is very dangerous to try to climb on the Mount Everest. There are many reasons why the Mount Everest is so dangerous. There are many avalanches and hurricane-force winds. The oxygen levels at the mount everest are only a third of what they are at sea level. Many people die as a result of the Altitude Mountain Sickness. The summit temperature averages about -36° C and can drop as low as -60° C . Many climbers freeze to death.
Everest has been climbed 5656 times with 223 deaths. Most bodies still remain on the mountain frozen in time. The death rate for Mount Everest climbers is about 1 in 10.

It takes 50 days or more to climb on the summit. Its important to be a very good climber. Some people train 5 oder 10 years to successfull their dream of climbing on the summit. The costs to climb on the Mount Everest are very high. The permit from the government of Nepal can run from $10,000 to $30,000 per person. Important equipment, Sherpa guides, additional permits, helicopters, and other essentials and the cost per person can be well over $70,000.

The Sherpas are the local people who live at the foot of Mount Everest. The Sherpa support many climbers to reach the cummit. They cook for the climbers, they bring equipment to the base camps and help climbers to reach the summit. Sherpas typically earn 1,000 dollars climbing on Everest. This is a very high income, because Nepal is a very poor country. The Sherpa are highly regarded in their country and by climbers.
