Hello,
what do Britains/Americans call the format DIN A4?
I know it's the A4 of the ISO 216 series - but that's way too long, isn't it?
Thanks!

Re: DIN A4 in English?
Thanks
I thought it would be strange if they used the term Deutsche Industrienorm

Re: DIN A4 in English?
There has been some confusion over the acronym DIN, because in the past there was indeed a "Deutsche Industrienorm". However "Deutsche Industrienorm" is abbreviated as "DI-Norm". DIN on the other hand has always meant "Deutsches Institut für Normung". Because of that confusion the DIN changed "DI-Norm" to "DIN-Norm".
But back to topic. DIN is only responsible for Germany but they are also a member of the ISO. Usually A DIN-Norm has a corresponding ISO standard and that is true for paper formats as well. The international standard that corresponds to DIN A4 is thus, simply, ISO A4.

Re: DIN A4 in English?
I'll answer from the American side of things: we don't use A4 paper in America. The closest equivalent is US Letter, which is not the same size as A4, but close.
