Kurze Korrektur eines Interviews

Beitrag von Kays »

Hi Leute,

Also, was haltet ihr davon? Habe ich Fehler und wenn ja, wo? Was würdet ihr besser machen? Gruß, Kays. :)

- Hello, I’m Chuck Norris and I am sitting here with Ellen Mac Arthur, who is best known for her incredible sailing-career and a British sports icon. Ellen, how are you?

Hi, Marc, I’m fine, thank you very much.

- Ellen, most people know you as a solo long-distance yachtswoman. Tell me, how did you get into sailing anyway?

Well, I was born in 1979 and since my earliest days, with 4 actually, I fell in love with sailing.

- Isn’t it true that your parents weren’t supportive at first and you had to save your school dinner money to buy your first
boat?

Ha Ha Ha, yeah that is true. I couldn’t tell my father because he always thought sailing was more like mans-sport and not suited for women. So I had to save my school-dinner money to buy my first boat. Funny story, but true.

- In your very successful career you have won many awards and broken many records. Could you name a few and which of these meant the most for you?

Well, in 2000 I crossed the Atlantic and broke the record for a single-handed woman in any vessel. Between November 2004 und February 2005 I broke the record for solo sailing non-stop around the world. The Queen of England gave me two Honors and I was awarded the French Legion of Honour by the French President. As a Brit, I am of course most proud of the Honors I was given by the Queen and sports-wise, I am most proud of breaking the record for sailing around the world.

- In 2009 you retired from sailing. Was it hard to stop sailing and what do you do know?

I still sail, but just for fun now. I also have a charity to help young people who are suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses. And an Asteroid is named after me, I am not kidding! I just hope it won’t destroy the earth someday.

- Ellen, Thank you very much.

My pleasure.

Hallo Kays!
Das ist schon sehr gut! Deine Selbsteinschätzung liegt nicht so weit aus der Objektivität! Meiner Meinung nach gab es nur einen richtigen Fehler. Du hast die Präposition "with" statt "at" benutzt. Die andere Fehler könnten nur Unterschiede sein, zwischen dem amerikanischen Englisch und dem britischen Englisch.

Gut gemacht!
