Referencing - the Harvard System

Beitrag von '°|°' »

I have got one question regarding the Harvard referencing system. If I want to quote a classic within a paper that I am writing, for example a book written by A. Trollope, and the book was published in 2011 by a publishing house called, say "Grimshaw and Blackwell" - is the following quote ok?
//here goes my quoted text// (Grimshaw and Blackwell : 2011, p. 400)
I normally quote academic papers as follows. Suppose there is a book written by a person named Peterson which was published in 2002, and there is some relevant piece of information on page 11 - then I quote it like this: (Peterson : 2002, p. 11). But in case of a text written by a classic - is it ok to name the publishing house before the colon?

The Harvard system always uses the author and the date. The publisher goes in the details in the reference list or Bibliography.

It's really not hard to find information about the
Harvard system of referencing:

OK, thanks

- and by the way, can anything that is labelled "unselbstständige Literatur" in German be translated into Engish as "private publishing"?

You cannot, ever!
Private publishing means that the author is also the publisher, i.e. there is no publishing company involved.
"Unselbständige Literatur" means that the published work is part of a magazin, anthology, collection etc. It is not seperately available. I don't know if there is a direct translation of the category name "unselbständige literatur" you would usually just say "published in ..."
